TZM plate: Application and market prospect of high performance superalloy materials

TZM plate is a high performance superalloy material based on molybdenum, with its unique high temperature strength, creep resistance and corrosion resistance, become the ideal choice for extreme conditions. 1. Application field
Aerospace: Critical materials for thermal protection and propulsion systems
Rocket engine nozzle: TZM sheet can withstand high temperature gas scour above 2000℃, and excellent thermal shock resistance. Compared with traditional nickel-based alloys, it can reduce the weight by more than 30%, significantly improve the thrust-to-weight ratio, and provide an important guarantee for the efficient operation of rocket engines.
Re-entry thermal shield: Using the low thermal expansion coefficient (4.8×10-6/℃) and high temperature stability of TZM plate, it can effectively prevent the spacecraft from structural deformation due to intense aerodynamic heating, and ensure the safe return of spacecraft to Earth.

Nuclear energy industry: Radiation and corrosion resistant structures
Nuclear fuel cladding material: TZM plates have a small neutron absorption cross section (thermal neutron cross section 2.6b), and the corrosion rate in liquid metal coolants (such as lead-bismuth alloys) is 50% lower than that of stainless steel. This makes it an ideal material for nuclear fuel cladding, which can effectively protect nuclear fuel and extend its service life.

First wall material of fusion reactor: In the face of 14MeV high-energy neutron irradiation, TZM sheet inhibits helium bubble aggregation through carbide reinforcement phase, prolonging service life, providing important support for the stable operation of nuclear fusion reactor.

High temperature industry: Heat resistant equipment and energy saving
High temperature furnace heating body: The resistance heating body made of TZM plate can work continuously for more than 1000 hours in the air at 1600℃, and the energy consumption is 40% lower than that of the graphite electrode. This not only improves the service life of the high temperature furnace, but also significantly reduces the energy consumption, and has significant economic benefits.

Glass furnace electrode: TZM plate has excellent corrosion resistance to molten glass (annual loss rate < 0.1mm), which avoids glass pollution caused by oxidation of traditional molybdenum electrode and ensures efficient operation and product quality of glass furnace.

Electronic devices: semiconductors and high-end equipment substrates
High-power semiconductor substrate: The thermal conductivity of TZM board (142 W/m·K) is highly matched with the silicon chip, and the device life is increased by more than 30%. This provides an important guarantee for the stable operation of high-power semiconductor devices and promotes the development of electronic device technology.

Sputtering target material: Ultra-high purity (≥99.95%) TZM plate is used to prepare nanometer molybdenum film, which is used in OLED display and photovoltaic cell electrode. Its high purity and excellent performance provide high-quality material support for the manufacture of high-end electronic devices.

Medical equipment: high-precision radiation therapy components
Proton therapy collimator: Using TZM plate's high density (10.2g /cm3) and anti-radiation performance, the proton beam path is accurately regulated, and the error is controlled within ±0.1mm. This provides reliable technical support for high-precision radiotherapy and improves the therapeutic effect and safety.
