Some types of electronic or electrochemical devices, such as batteries, are known to be very sensitive to humidity. In the case of a lithium-ion battery (which represents an example of a battery that is particularly sensitive to humidity), the lithium spontaneously reacts with water to form lithium hydroxide. The lithium that has reacted with water can no longer be used for energy storage, reducing the battery's capacity due to premature aging. For this reason, great care must be taken in the manufacturing of batteries to maintain completely waterless conditions. Similarly, to ensure battery life over time, the battery is protected from the external environment by a sealed package that avoids infiltration of water, which is prone to new battery capacity loss. In the production process, aluminum foil, copper foil, titanium foil, molybdenum foil, stainless steel foil and foil containing metal copper play a crucial role in the production.

Package quality is very important for lithium ion batteries. Deposition via ALD(Atomic Layer deposition) is particularly well suited to covering battery surfaces in a standard, fully sealed manner. These techniques allow the fabrication of defect-free and perfectly conformal films. These membranes provide the cell with a fairly high level of protection against penetration of water and oxygen molecules, so that the molecules remain permeable only at the point of electrical contact across the package: this is often what determines the cell's loss of impermeability.

Conductive particles are made of titanium, nitride or carbon, especially in the form of carbon black, graphite or graphene.

The contact element includes a second layer disposed over a first layer made of a material filled with conducting particles, the second layer including a metal foil, and the second layer preferably consisting of a metal foil. The metal foil is preferably selected from aluminum foil, copper foil, titanium foil, molybdenum foil, stainless steel foil and foil containing metal copper. The thickness of the second layer is preferably less than 20μm, and the thickness is preferably less than 10μm. The foil metal may be an alloy, such as stainless steel, or a pure metal, such as copper, aluminum, titanium, or molybdenum. Because of the importance of titanium foil, molybdenum strip, in the selection of materials must be very careful. Pay attention to the ductility of titanium foil and molybdenum foil. And the tensile strength of titanium foil and molybdenum foil. And the chemical composition of titanium foil and molybdenum strip.
