Molybdenum foil
Molybdenum has an expansion coefficient similar to quartz glass, so it is widely used as a sealing material in the field of electric light source. There needs to be a molybdenum foil transition between the lead rod and the filament and electrode of the halogen tungsten lamp and mercury lamp. After being sealed with the quartz glass tube end, it plays the dual role of vacuum sealing and conduction.
The thickness range of molybdenum foil used for sealing should be controlled within 0.0165 ~ 0.045 mm in order to ensure that the molybdenum strip does not burst when sealing with quartz glass. The width should be controlled in 2.0~ 4.5mm, the edge of molybdenum foil should be processed into the shape of cutting edge, so that the cutting edge of the book can ensure the plastic deformation when it is sealed with quartz glass, reduce the stress to a minimum, achieve the ideal vacuum seal without gas leakage and chronic leakage phenomenon. With the introduction of automatic sealing and pressing lamp production line with the technical transformation of lamp making industry, rolling molybdenum strip is needed to meet the requirements of continuous automatic feeding.
