Molybdenum wire is a common molybdenum products, if classified by material, can be divided into pure, high temperature, spraying and wire cut molybdenum wire, different classification also creates its different characteristics and uses.

Molybdenum is a silver-white metal with a high melting point and does not oxidize with air at room temperature. Because molybdenum has the advantages of high strength, high melting point, corrosion resistance, wear resistance, it is widely used in iron and steel, petroleum, chemical, electronic and electrical technology, medicine and agriculture and other fields.

The purity of pure molybdenum wire is very high, its surface is black gray. After alkali washing, the surface is white. It conducts electricity well, so it is often used as part of light bulbs. For example, it can be used to make filament holders made of tungsten, lead wires for halogen light bulbs, and electrodes for gas discharge lamps and tubes.

This type of wire is also used in aircraft windshields, where it acts as a heating element to provide defrost functionality; It is also used in the manufacture of electronic tubes and power networks.

The high temperature molybdenum wire added lanthanide rare earth elements on the basis of pure molybdenum. This molybdenum-based alloy is preferred over pure molybdenum because it has a higher recrystallization temperature, higher strength and better ductility after exposure to high temperatures. In addition, after being heated above its recrystallization temperature and processed, the alloy forms an interlocking grain structure that helps resist sagging and structural stability.

Therefore, it is often used in high temperature structural materials such as printing pins, nuts and screws, halogen lamp holders, high temperature furnace heating elements, and lead wire in quartz and high temperature ceramic materials.

Spraying molybdenum wire is mainly used for easy to wear automotive parts, such as piston rings, transmission synchronization parts, picking fork, etc. The formation of a thin coating on the worn surface can make the vehicle and parts subjected to high mechanical loads have excellent lubrication and wear resistance.

When molybdenum wire is used for wire cutting, it can cut almost any conductive material, including steel, aluminum, brass, titanium and other types of alloys and superalloys.
