Common tungsten-molybdenum alloys contain 30% ~ 50% tungsten by mass. Tungsten molybdenum alloy is prepared by the same method as metal molybdenum material and molybdenum alloy, that is, powder metallurgy sintering after processing and smelting processing two methods, can produce bar, plate, wire or other profiles. Tungsten-molybdenum alloys containing 30% (mass) tungsten have excellent corrosion resistance to liquid zinc and are used in the manufacture of agitators, pipe and container linings and other components in the zinc smelting industry. Tungsten-molybdenum alloy has good high temperature strength, similar properties to tungsten but smaller specific gravity than tungsten, so it can be used as high-temperature components, filament of electron tubes and other high-temperature materials in rockets and missiles at corresponding high temperature conditions.

Properties of tungsten molybdenum alloy;
Two elements in the same column of the periodic table. They also exhibit the same properties. Two elements in the earth's crust at an average concentration of 1.5 parts per million. Molybdenum is an essential nutrient for plants and animals. At high concentrations, molybdenum can cause poisoning which is sometimes the case from alkaline ash leachate. Tungsten is an important strategic metal and is used in a variety of industrial applications. It is usually mined from scheelite, powder CaWO4, wolframite (iron, manganese) WO4.
