1, High frequency arc starting
Non-contact arc initiation method, which can reduce the wear of tungsten electrode used for arc initiation, is conducive to continuous argon arc welding. That is, using high voltage breakdown arc starting mode, first in the electrode needle (tungsten needle) and the workpiece between high frequency high pressure. When the arc is started, a certain small gap is kept between the end of the tungsten electrode and the surface to be welded. Then, the high-frequency oscillator pulse arc starting circuit is connected to make the gap breakdown and discharge and ignite the arc.

2, Non high frequency arc starting
It is also a non-contact arc starting method. The specific approach is: at the beginning of arc starting, the auxiliary heat source is used to heat the tungsten electrode first and improve the thermal electron emission capacity of the tungsten electrode. In this way, the tungsten electrode can successfully trigger the arc under the lower no-load voltage.

3. Arc initiation by high voltage pulse
A high pressure pulse is added between the tungsten electrode and the workpiece to ionize the gas medium between the two poles and initiate an arc.

4. Contact arc ignition
The wear of tungsten electrode by contact arc initiation is very large, and after the wear of tungsten electrode, the welding quality is greatly affected. Frequent replacement of tungsten electrode affects welding speed. Specific approach is: workpiece and tungsten direct contact, make its contact short circuit, in order to achieve the purpose of contact arc.

5. Non-damaging tungsten arc starting method
The arc starting method in principle belongs to an indirect contact arc starting method, that is, between the workpiece and the tungsten electrode with welding wire connection contact, as the arc starting conductor, so that the indirect contact between the workpiece and the tungsten short circuit, in order to achieve the purpose of contact arc starting. Its principle is the same with the contact arc starting mode, the difference is not tungsten directly contact with the workpiece, but by the welding wire instead of tungsten and workpiece contact, so as to achieve the purpose of short-circuit arc starting, and avoid tungsten directly contact with the workpiece wear tungsten, is an ideal argon arc welding method.
