China has abundant reserves of rare earth resources in the world. For example, Jiangxi province is known as the "Kingdom of rare earth" and "tungsten capital of the world". 70% of the world's medium and heavy rare earth and 60% of the world's tungsten black are produced here, and a complete industrial chain has been formed.

The hydrometallurgical process of tungsten is relatively complex and involves many kinds of solid-liquid separation operations. In the current black and white tungsten-alkali leaching-ion exchange process, tungsten-gold ore usually requires ball milling, and then sodium tungstate solution is obtained through alkali decomposition, dilution, filtration and slag washing. Up to now, plate and frame pressure filters and other filters are mainly used for solid-liquid separation in China, but the effect is not ideal. There are low filtering accuracy, plate and frame easy to plug, not easy to clean, poor automation and other phenomena.

Ceramic membrane filtration technology can be used to filter the solution before ion exchange in tungsten hydrometallurgy. It has been proved that better filtration effect can be obtained by using ceramic membrane element, and tungsten turbidity can be reduced to less than 1NTU after treatment. In addition, the ceramic membrane has good reproducibility, and the flux can be recovered to more than 98% after cleaning with acid and alkali. It can greatly shorten the production process and realize full automatic production.

At the same time, the ceramic membrane can also intercept polyvalent ions or small molecular weight substances, with significant material properties. Such as high temperature resistance, chemical corrosion resistance, good mechanical strength, microbial resistance, permeability, cleaning, narrow aperture distribution, long service life and other characteristics. It can be better used in food, medicine, water treatment and industrial fields.
