TZM,MHC and molybdenum rare earth alloys

TZM alloy is an excellent high temperature molybdenum alloy material. It is a solid solution hardened and grain reinforced molybdenum base alloy. TZM is harder than pure molybdenum metal and has a higher recrystallization temperature and better creep resistance. The recrystallization temperature is about 1400℃, much higher than molybdenum, which can provide better weldability.

MHC is a granular enhanced molybdenum alloy containing hafnium and carbon. Due to the uniform distribution of ultrafine carbides, the material still shows excellent heat resistance and creep resistance at 1550℃, and the recommended maximum service temperature is 150℃ higher than TZM. For example, MHC materials are recommended for use in metal forming applications because they can withstand extreme thermal and mechanical loads when used in extrusion dies.

Molybdenum zirconium alloy, the corrosion resistance and creep resistance of molybdenum can be enhanced by doping a small amount of zirconia (ZrO2) into pure molybdenum.

The addition of rare earth elements can not only improve the recrystallization temperature and high temperature creep resistance of molybdenum, but also significantly reduce the brittleness transition temperature of molybdenum, increase the ductility, improve the room temperature brittleness and high temperature drop resistance of molybdenum. TZM alloy is widely used in aerospace, aviation and other fields because of its excellent high temperature strength, high recrystallization temperature, good thermal conductivity, such as used for nozzle material, nozzle material, valve valve, gas pipe pipe material, valve gate material, We can also make X-ray rotating anode parts, die casting mold and extrusion mold, heating element and heat insulation screen in high temperature furnace, etc.

MHC alloys can be widely used in metal forming applications.

Rare earth molybdenum wire is mainly used as filament of electric light source, electrode of EDM and heating element of high temperature furnace.

Rare earth molybdenum sheet and sheet are used for stamping into silicon controlled discs, as well as heat insulation shielding and guiding sheets for electronic tubes, etc.

Rare earth molybdenum alloy can be used as high quality hot perforated steel, aerospace and nuclear industry materials, X-ray pole target, die casting mold and extrusion mold;

Rare earth molybdenum shaped products are used as glass melting electrode, rare earth smelting electrode, crucible, high temperature sintering boat, high temperature radiation insulation screen, port, guide rail, cushion plate, etc.

Rare earth molybdenum alloy can also be used as hot cathode material for high power electronic tubes. Rare earth molybdenum alloy hot cathode material replaces thorium tungsten cathode which has high working temperature, radioactive pollution and high brittleness, which can greatly reduce the working temperature of electron tube and improve the reliability.
