Molybdenum titanium zirconium alloy
Molybdenum titanium zirconium alloy refers to molybdenum base alloy with titanium and zirconium as alloying elements. TZM (Mo-0.5%Ti-0.008%Zr) and TZC (Mo-1.25%Ti-0.15%Zr-0.15% carbon) are the most widely used. Good high temperature strength and high recrystallization temperature, and good room temperature plasticity. Made by powder metallurgy and vacuum arc melting method. It can be used as high temperature structural material and tool material for high temperature machining under extremely harsh conditions.
Both titanium and zirconium play the role of solution strengthening and carbide dispersion strengthening in the alloy, and the composite titanium-zirconium carbide is more stable than the single titanium carbide at high temperature, so TZM molybdenum alloy has better high temperature strength and higher recrystallization temperature.
TZM molybdenum alloy has better high temperature strength and higher recrystallization temperature, at the same time, TZM molybdenum alloy has better room temperature plasticity. TZM molybdenum alloy has relatively excellent comprehensive performance, widely used in high temperature molybdenum alloy.
The preparation method of molybdenum-titanium-zirconium alloy is the same as that of molybdenum-titanium alloy, that is, two methods of processing after melting into ingots and powder burning into ingots, but its processing is slightly more difficult than that of molybdenum-titanium alloy.
TZM molybdenum alloy is mainly used for high temperature components in aerospace technology, such as rocket nozzle throat lining, flight rudder splint, etc. TZM alloys are also widely used for temperature & GT; 1000℃ metal hot working die, such as die casting, extrusion die, etc.
