In the paint and pigment industry, molybdenum can replace toxic chromium, lead, titanium and other metals, and is an efficient colorant; in the chemical industry, it can replace chromium and flame retardant in preservatives, antimony in smoke; molybdenum also has potential in the application of water treatment industry, mainly in the cooling water treatment of open circuit and closed-circuit circulating cooling system to inhibit corrosion, and in the open circuit cooling tower The content of sodium dimolybdate per liter of coolant is 10 mg, while it can reach 150 mg per liter in the closed-circuit cooling water air-conditioning unit. The amount of sodium dimolybdate used as antifreeze and preservative in cooling system and cutting fluid is also increasing. It is also suggested that molybdenum can improve vitrified soil, simplify the treatment of highly polluted soil and reduce soil pollution.
