Development of tungsten and molybdenum
Tungsten is an irreplaceable basic material and strategic resource for the national economy and modern national defense. The carbide made of tungsten has super hardness and excellent wear resistance, and is used to make various cutting tools, cutting tools, drilling tools and wear-resistant parts, and is praised as "the teeth of industry ". Molybdybdenum is mainly used in iron and steel industry, most of which is directly used in steelmaking or cast iron with industrial molybdenum oxide block, and a small amount of it is melted into ferromolybdbdbdenum and then used in steelmaking.
The data show that the world's total proven tungsten reserves are only 2.9 million tons, distributed in China, Canada, Russia and the United States, accounting for about 84 percent of the four countries. China's tungsten deposits are very rich in resources and have many types of deposits, but the trade order is chaotic, the quality of its products is low, and the homogeneity is serious.
The world's molybdenum reserves are about 8.6 million tons, and the global molybdenum resource distribution is highly unbalanced, mainly in China, the United States and Chile, with reserves above 1.1 million tons. The world's total molybdenum production in 2010 was 214,000 tons of molybdenum, up 12.8% year-on-year. China ranks first in molybdenum production in the world, accounting for 37.4% of global production in 2010. From January to November 2011, China's production of molybdenum concentrate reached 216,000 tons, up 10.99 percent from a year earlier
In 2010, the non-ferrous metal industry conscientiously implemented the Party Central Committee and the State Council's various principles and policies, and actively implemented the "Plan for the Adjustment and Revitalization of the Non-ferrous Metals Industry ". From the operating situation of 22 enterprises, the development momentum of China's tungsten and molybdenum smelting enterprises in 2010 is better, and the profit level of the industry is higher.
